This Carbon Store paper proposes a sectoral approach to engagement ofdeveloping nations in quantified emission reductions in the agriculture, forestryand other land uses (AFOLU) sector in the period 2013 – 2017. It also proposesthat carbon accounting and reporting by developed and developing nations forAFOLU under the Kyoto Protocol should converge starting in 2013.It recommends that all developed nations, and all developing nations that wantto generate tradable Kyoto units from AFOLU activities, should use the 2006IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories for AFOLU activityreporting from 2013.
