It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Dr. Shahzad Jehangir, Deputy Inspector General of Forests for Pakistan, and the leading counterpart for the UN-REDD Programme in Pakistan. Shahzad was a dedicated advocate for forest conservation in Pakistan, and an active contributor to the UN-REDD Programme, most recently at the regional knowledge exchange on National Strategies/Action Plans in Bangkok in July. Our sincerest condolences go out to his family, friends and colleagues – he will be sorely missed.
